Mr. Baljeet Singh Ahuja, Chairman, Upper Yamuna River Board and Member, Central Water Commission, was born on 15.03.1948. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from BITS, Pilani in the year 1969 and Master of Technology in Design Engineering from IIT, Delhi in the year 1983. He obtained Certificate of Graduate School, United States Department of Agriculture (USA) on Leadership and Management Development in the year 1991.
Mr. Ahuja joined the Central Water Commission in March 1971 as Assistant Engineer and has held various positions in the department. In his 35 years of distinguished service encompassing all aspects of Water Resources Sector, Mr. Ahuja has made significant contributions in Policy Planning, Development, Management and Execution of Multi-purpose Irrigation, Flood Control and Hydro Power Projects in the country. His field of specialization includes Planning and Management of Hydro-power Schemes, Flood Forecasting and Monitoring of Projects.
Mr. Ahuja has traveled widely in several countries on consultancy assignments, study tours and as member of various Indian delegations. He has to his credit several technical papers presented/published at various international and national seminars and symposia.
